How many bags I have used I can not remember exactly. In all my bags, the one I love most is a very old one which symbolizes the love from both my mother and my husband. The bag is very big and the color is brown. Although it can be called an antique, it in fact still looks good and fashionable. .
I should say I am a lucky girl who knew my Mr. Right as early as I was a child, only that I did not know then he would be my future husband.
The story began at the time when I was eight years old. My mother was a doctor and my father was a manager in a company. My parents, because they were so busy with their work, wanted to hire a helper to deal with gardening. A relative then brought and introduced a boy to us whose family was far away from ours and who was also nine years old. He stared at my mother and said, “Hire me and I can do whatever.” Because it was not during vocation, my mother curiously questioned, “Do not need to go to school?” My relative then answered, “Oh, his father just passed away, and his mother is a housewife. He has three little sisters. And he also has two grandparents who are ill in bed. The compensation from the government is actually not enough. It seems he must work now.”
Hearing that, my mother immediately entered the bedroom. She returned to the boy with an envelop in her hand and a big bag that was her favorite. She opened the envelop and took out much money, saying, “Take this and the bag. I have no other schoolbag but I give this bag to you. Bring home this bag and use it to carry books. Return to school and study hard. You may help your mother when you grow up.”

The boy left but my mother did not forget him. She sent money to him regularly.
One year later, we received a letter from the boy. He said lots of thankful words and told me that he achieved top in his class. He also encouraged me to study hard. Then we began post communication.
During the following twelve years, we had not met again but we had been communicating through post. We shared our separate secrets with each other and he became my real soul mate.

In 2005, a traffic accident made my right leg broken. I then left school and stayed at home. My boyfriend left me because he believed that my leg would be broken forever. Unable to stand the sorrow, I even wanted to die.

One day, when I lied on bed, my mother cheerfully came into my room and said, “My girl! Look, whom I bring here.” I raised my head and then I found a boy beside my mother. He was so handsome with a clear cut face and a strong body. Then my mother said, “Mike he is! Your friend Mike. Your soul mate!” Really! The boy with whom I have communicating for ten years is just standing before my eyes? I doubted first, then understood, and then I sat up and cheered, “Oh! Mike, my friend!”
He then just graduated from a university and he decided to accompany me for a period before he went to find a job. He was so caring with a warm heart. He brought lots of happiness to my life. One month later, my leg miraculously recovered.
He found a job in the city where I lived. I was attracted by his tender heart and perfect appearance. Then we fell in love and began to date.
One day, he invited me to eat out. He stared at me affectionately and said, “Could you marry me.” Then he held a bag and gave it to me, saying “This bag is the most important gift I have received. I will give it only to my future wife. It is from your mother. I have learned a lot from it. I have learned to always be ready to help others. And I tried to practise it. I found lots of happiness through it. I know you are just like your mother with a shinning heart. Let us support each other further like what we have done for twelve years through post.”

I took the bag and opened it. There inside, a lot of letters piled there. All were those we sent to each other during twelve years. I held it tightly in my hand with a pair of eyes full of tears.

The bag still hangs on the wall of my room. It is the most important gift from both my mother and my husband in my life. It says that blessings are hidden just behind a kind heart. It records a life-long lesson from my mother and a heartfelt love from my husband. My husband and I do not forget to help those who need help. We inherit my mother’s most valuable thing, loving hearts!
